About the Bundesliga
The German Bundesliga features 18 clubs battling through a double round-robin season from August to May. Each team faces the others home and away for 34 matchdays, with wins worth three points and draws one. Goal difference and head-to-head records break ties, adding weight to every fixture.

- Fifth place enters the UEFA Europa League, while sixth reaches the UEFA Conference League playoffs.
- Sixteenth finishes in a promotion/relegation play-off with the 2. Bundesliga, and the bottom two are relegated automatically.

How does Bundesliga relegation work?
The 17th- and 18th-place clubs are relegated to the 2. Bundesliga. The team in 16th enters a two-legged play-off with the second-tier’s third-place side, with the aggregate winner earning a Bundesliga berth.
Which German clubs qualify for Europe?
The top four league positions earn UEFA Champions League tickets, fifth goes to the Europa League and sixth to the UEFA Conference League playoffs. German Cup champion also secures a Europa League slot if they are not already qualified.
